More often now people are looking to take a domestic UK holiday rather than travel abroad. With miles of countryside and hundreds of idyllic towns and villages to explore increasing numbers are now experiencing what is available in our back yards than ever before.
The demand for creating a second home and buying a static caravan holiday home has also increased significantly in recent times. Here we take a closer look at why holiday homes in Herefordshire make perfect staycation sanctuaries.
Herefordshire is blessed with some of the most stunning countryside in the country. With the Wye Valley to the south of the county, Malvern Hills to the east there is no shortage of outstanding natural beauty areas to explore. You are also within close proximity of the Shropshire Hills and Brecon Beacons.
Owners at our Herefordshire holiday park benefit from our peaceful and naturally beautiful location midway between Bromyard and Leominster. There are numerous nearby footpaths and bridleways which you can easily access to enjoy a stroll through the countryside during your Herefordshire staycation.
Owning a holiday home in Herefordshire is a wildlife enthusiast’s dream. The rich and diverse wildlife attracts visitors from a wide area.
On our park you are likely to be treated to sightings of many bird species including owls, red kite and woodpecker. Mammals which we have seen include deer, hedgehog, otter and squirrels. Also our fishing lake is of course a great draw for wildlife and encourage fantastic bio diversity within our grounds.
We encourage our owners to get involved with the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust. They care for 55 Nature Reserves and work to inspire people of all ages to discover and care for the local wildlife.
Herefordshire staycations are a breeze as the transport links in and around the county are very good. With easy access off the M5 motorway traveling by car to the area is straight forward. The county experiences less visitors than areas such as Cornwall or the Lake District so the likelihood of being stuck in a traffic jam during peak seasons is a lot less.
There are sometimes a few worries of what to do with the dog when travelling abroad. However it is far easier to take your four legged family members with you when taking a domestic holiday.
We are delighted to be a dog friendly holiday park and welcome caravan owners dogs. The miles of open countryside and dog friendly pubs and attractions are sure to get their tails wagging!
Taking a staycation in Herefordshire doesn’t mean you are going to miss out on great holiday days out and experiences.
If you enjoy a drink head to the Chase Distillery. Here you can experience the secrets and skills which go into making their gin and vodka. If malts and hops are your preferred flavours then the Wye Valley Brewery will have some craft beer waiting for you.
For a more cultural experience take a visit to Hereford Cathedral, Hampton Court Castle, Eastnor Castle or Berrington Hall. All will give you a fantastic historic perspective of our fascinating county.
We hope all these reasons give you the inspiration you need to take Herefordshire staycations in the future. Looking to make it a more permanent holiday destination? Take a look at our caravan holiday homes for sale.
